NEW YORK — Today, Officers with the Ramapo Police Department responded to an unusual call. A herd of cows got loose from a dairy farm along Ackertown road in the Village of Chestnut Ridge.

The cows ended up in a yard on Milrose lane which is near Ackertown road.

An farm worker responded and grabbed one cow. He started walking back towards the farm and the rest of the cows followed.

All the cows are now safely back on the farm.

Further investigation reveals a gate was not properly secured allowing the cows the ability to roam off.
