A command master chief of U.S. Navy Strike Fighter Squadron VFA-86 has been discharged from his post after harassment charges were racked against him.
Master Chief Petty Officer James K. Shumate was summoned to judicial proceedings regarding allegations that he had repeatedly abused his position by requesting from his female colleagues that they perform various sexual acts or accompany him home.
According to a Navy spokesperson, the 44-year-old “had history of repeatedly asking women to go home with him regardless of rank, command, or marital or relationship status.”
