ARIZONA — Several Transportation Security Administration officers were wounded by a suspect who stormed through a security checkpoint at Sky Harbor Airport Tuesday.
The incident happened at Terminal 4.
Other TSA officers and members of the Phoenix police department immediately took action and placed the unnamed suspect in custody.
The TSA said in a statement: “This unprovoked and brazen physical attack against our workforce is unacceptable. We are grateful for our committed workforce and for the role they play in protecting the traveling public every day. We continue to monitor the safety and health of the TSOs involved in this incident and will cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation.”
It was unclear how the agents were ‘attacked’ or if any weapon was used.
At least one injured officer was taken to a hospital.
