Reverse 911 Activated in Pa. Town, Shelter-In-Place Ordered By Police

Residents in Buck County, Pennsylvania were urged to take cover in their homes Sunday night as a police operation was ongoing.

According to WPVI, police had a heavy presence in the area of Bristol and Lower State roads as a manhunt was on for an escaped prisoner.

The reverse 911 system was also activated.

Reverse 911 is a system that allows authorities to notify large groups of residents in the event of an emergency or when a tragedy has occurred.
