TEXAS — The City of Houston is monitoring a strong sulfur-like odor moving across the Houston area.
While initial reports indicated that the smell originated from a chemical plant, the source has yet to be definitively determined.
Air monitoring continues to indicate no threat to public health or safety. However, Houstonians may want to avoid traveling through the affected area, and stay inside until the smell has dissipated.
Schools have cancelled outdoor activities.
The investigation continues.
