NEW JERSEY — Newark police and SWAT were on the scene of a barricaded gunman Wednesday afternoon.
The standoff was ongoing in the 100 block of South 7th Street.
According to WNBC, ‘an officer heard gunshots fired in the area and saw a suspect running into a home.’
Officers were interviewing a possible victim nearby but say no one was injured in the shooting. “The incident may be domestic violence in nature, but remains unconfirmed at this time,” police said in a statement.
