MASSACHUSETTS — A shooting in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston placed three schools on ‘Safe Mode’ Monday.

The shooting occurred on Malcolm X. Boulevard.

The victim is a juvenile who suffered non-life threatening injuries. The scene has been secured, police said.

Boston Herald reports: “The shooting sent three schools into safe mode, officials said: John D. O’Bryant School of Math & Science, Madison Park Vocational Technical High School and Timilty Middle School.

A spokesman said the shooting occurred off school property but was in the vicinity of the schools, prompting the move to safe mode, which doesn’t allow anyone in or out of the building. Boston Public Schools have also sent in their crisis response team, though officials couldn’t say whether the person injured was a student.”

No further details were available.
