NEW YORK — Utica College was placed on lockdown Monday due to a ‘real, credible threat,’ the university said.
“Everyone on campus is to remain sheltered in place,” the school said in an alert. “Please get to a safe place and remain there until you are told the shelter in place direction has been lifted.”
“Individuals are asked to confine themselves by whatever means possible and remain indoors to secure their safety while the threat is handled by law enforcement,” the college says.
The exact nature of the threat was not known.
No injuries have been reported.
