WATCH: (Scroll Down For Video) Four people have been confirmed dead following a gas explosion in Liaoning province, north eastern China earlier today.
Another five people are injured following the explosion and are receiving treatment in hospital. The explosion is currently under investigation.
The nucleus of the explosion is believed to be the ninth floor of a residential building in Dandong city.
First photographs of the scene show that part of the building front has been completely destroyed.
Damage to the surrounding areas was also extensive. Falling debris damaged several vehicles parked on the roads.
CCTV of the road just outside of the building showed a massive shockwave blow through the area moments before the debris started showering down and engulfing the road in a cloud of dust.
Five people were injured and were taken to hospital for treatment. They are thought to be stable.
Identities of the victims are currently unknown.
The case is currently under investigation although cause is suspected to be a gas explosion.
