A 21-year-old man has divorced his wife just days after he left her in Dubai to travel to India.
J Prameela Devi, a member of the state women’s commission adalat, said: ‘He said she was like an apple and he had already tasted it. So he did not want her any more.’
The girl’s mother reportedly had paid the groom a dowry of Rs 10 lakhs and now the commission is looking into the validity of a ‘WhatsApp talaq’.

A member of the Samastha Kerala Jam-Iyyathul Ulama claimed says the divorce is valid but only after a formal discussion is held with the family.
But another member of the same organisation says WhatsApp is not a legal document and the divorce said take place in person.
