EARTHQUAKE: 3.4 Magnitude Quake Shakes Parts of Alabama & Mississippi

The 3.4 magnitude quake  jolted parts of west central Alabama and east central Mississippi about 2:38 p.m. (Atlanta time), and was centered about 30 miles southwest of Tuscaloosa, near the town of Eutaw, according to the USGS.

While quakes are not common in Alabama, they are not unheard of.

No damage or injuries were reported.
