TIPTONVILLE, Tenn. — (WREG) — A fight between rival gang members inside a Tennessee prison sent eight people to the hospital.
According to News Channel 5 Nashville, the fight broke out Friday afternoon at the Northwest Correctional Complex and immediately went into lockdown.
It remained on lockdown until Saturday.
The prison released a statement saying the fight “resulted from a conflict between two rival gangs in a local community spilling over into the prisons.”
In all seven ambulances had to be called to the scene after several of the people involved were stabbed.
