Shots Fired at Officers in Fairfax, Va: Police

WASHINGTON, DC — Fairfax County police reported shots fired at officers in the 6200 block of Larkspur Drive on Wednesday.

Officers responded to a home in Franconia for what was originally called a suspicious event. Police were asking residents in the area to remain indoors.

As officers made contact with residence, gunshots came from inside the residence, in the direction of the officers. No officers were hit.

A perimeter was established and neighbors were quickly asked to stay indoors.A Tactical team was requested.

Police were asking residents to remain inside and preferably go to a basement or to the lowest area in their home for their safety.

The standoff continues. No further details were available.
