LAS VEGAS -- At 5:07 p.m. on October 5, 2015 LVMPD patrol officers were dispatched to the intersection of Russell Road and Lindell Road to investigate a report of a serious injury vehicle accident.

The victim was crossing the street on foot when Mendoza-Cabezas reportedly drove a short distance down the street, did a U-turn and came back and struck the victim and ultimately the house.

From KSNV: Family has confirmed the two are husband and wife, with a history of fighting, who now have six children left to cope with the loss of a mother and a father accused of violently killing her.

Zach Hollis was standing in his kitchen by the stove when he heard a bang. It was the sound of the truck crashing into the wall standing between his backyard and the street.

“The next thing I know, all this stuff is coming after me,” he said. That’s when the truck continued through his backyard and crashed into his house. “If I was probably a foot or two feet to the left, I could have been crushed.”

Metro says Monday night, Mendoza-Cabezas was arguing with Gabriela Marin de Mendoza moments before he allegedly stepped on the accelerator and ran her over with a truck.

As a result of the investigation, Mendoza-Cabezas was arrested and charged.
