Former Correctional Officer Charged with Official Misconduct

KNOXVILLE – (TBI) — An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has led to the indictment of a former Knox County Correctional Officer accused of buying steroids from an inmate.

On August 5th, at the request of 6th District Attorney General Charme Allen, TBI Special Agents with the Drug Investigation Division along with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office began investigating allegations against Bradley David Frey.

During the course of the investigation, Agents developed information that Frey purchased Dianabol pills from an individual in Knox County. The transaction was arranged by an inmate in the Knox County Jail who Frey met while working as a correctional officer.

On August 23rd, the Knox County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Frey, 27, with three counts of Official Misconduct. Today, Frey turned himself in and was booked into the Knox County Jail on a $5,000 bond. A booking photo is not currently available.
