LOS ANGELES — A man convicted of sexually assaulting more than a dozen women was sentenced today to 30 years to life in state prison.
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Joel Wallenstein imposed the sentence on Ferdinand Ervin Flowers, 36, of Long Beach who pleaded no contest on Sept. 17, 2018 to two felony counts each of forcible oral copulation and assault with intent to commit forcible oral copulation.
Flowers also admitted using a handgun and agreed to be held responsible for restitution on all the 13 victims.
Flowers targeted sex workers in Los Angeles from Jan. 30, 2014 to Jan. 12, 2018. The defendant often used a handgun to rob the victims, take them to an unincorporated area of Carson near Compton and sexually assault them, the prosecutor said.
The case was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s and Los Angeles Police Departments.
