WSBTV: A police body camera caught the moments after a car crashed into a minivan carrying a family of four in Gwinnett County. Officers say one of the drivers admitted he was trying to commit suicide.
The crash happened Sunday around 7:30 p.m. Police say the driver, Petronila Bautista Herndandez, ran a red light and caused the crash. He hit a family of four, but everyone survived.
The small camera, which was hooked on the Norcross police officer’s chest recorded everything. The Calleja family was stopped at a light when another vehicle slammed into them. Police say Hernandez was drunk and apparently decided to turn his large pickup truck into a deadly weapon.
