Migrants from Morocco will no longer be accepted in Germany’s most popular state, after officials discovered migrants from the country are among the suspects in violent crime and sexual assaults throughout the country.

North Rhine-Westphalia’s interior minister, Ralf Jager, has said that authorities have agreed not to sent any more Moroccans into the state.

He went on to say: ‘Immigrants from the North African region appear disproportionately as offenders,’

‘Frequently the suspects are young men travelling alone.’

He concluded by saying that many of the people from the region do not qualify as refugees and are here for a better life.

Official data shows that nearly 6,500 Moroccans sought asylum in the state in 2015, a 300% increase from the previous year.

In January, over 200 migrants sued the provincial government for taking too long to process their asylum applications.

Police are still investigating over 70 people in connection with the sexual assaults that were committed in Cologne on New Year’s Eve.

The suspects included 30 Moroccan nationals, 27 Algerians, four Iraqis and many more.

In 2015, Germany allowed over 1.1million migrants to enter their country, experts have predicted that figure is to rise sharply.
