The German government has announced they are negotiating with a hotel chain to house migrants in the Berlin, which is to cost €600million.

Officials are looking to house over 10,000 migrants in hotel rooms across Berlin.

The proposal would cost the Germany government 50 euros per person per night, which equates to over £13,000.

Government officials have been negotiating with hotel groups which manage over 22 hotels in the capital.

A local newspaper has revealed they will be looking to strike a deal on a contract that lasts over 3 years, which will cost 600 million euros.

Over 80,000 migrants have been housed in Berlin hotels already in 2015, with numbers expected to rise for 2016.

Over 1.1million migrants have already entered Germany in 2015.

People have been left outraged as Berlin’s homeless population is around 10,000 and now taxpayers will fund non-German citizens being housed in the city.

Scandinavia is facing a similar dilemma, which has a population of over 9 million, housed over 160,000 migrant adults in 2015.

If the proposals receive the green light, it is likely to be met with stark opposition.
