A Green County Sheriff was killed in a crash early Tuesday morning.
A NY State Police Spokesperson tells Breaking911.com that Troopers responded to reports of a one car motor vehicle crash on Route 23 near the Windhan town line in the Town of Ashland in Greene County at around 6:00AM.
An investigation revealed that Greene County Sheriffs Deputy Kevin Haverly, 26 , was operating his marked unit westbound on St 23 and exited the roadway striking a telephone pole.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the crash.
An investigation is underway.
