In response to recent shootings in Park Hill, the 120th Precinct has created focused strategies to tackle crime and improve quality of life in the neighborhood. Sergeant Quinn and Police Officers Caruso and Englehardt were assigned to a bus route operation along the S76 line where they observed as three men board the bus at Vaderbilt Avenue and Tompkins Avenue without paying the fare.
The officers followed the bus and approached the men who quickly separated and pretended not to know each other. Further investigation by the officers led them to discover one of the men in possession of an illegal firearm.
The suspects were arrested without incident and charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
