YouTube, YouTube TV and YouTube Music Access went down for millions of users worldwide Tuesday night. The service was later restored.

According to DownDetector, a service that tracks website issues, the outages affecting YouTube began shortly before 9:00 p.m. ET.

Some users saw a blank screen when visiting the site, others saw videos that did not load and error codes that said, “Sorry, something went wrong. A team of highly trained monkeys has been dispatched to deal with this situation. If you see them, send them this information as text (screenshots frighten them).”

During the outage, the social media giant said they were aware of the issue and were working to restore service, issuing the following statement: “Thanks for your reports about YouTube, YouTube TV and YouTube Music access issues. We’re working on resolving this and will let you know once fixed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will keep you updated.”

As is predictable, people took to other platforms to spread the news.

YouTube is the second most visited website in the world behind Google. As of February 2017, there were more than 400 hours of content uploaded to YouTube each minute, and one billion hours of content being watched on YouTube every day.
