A Long Island Firefighter has died after being injured burning a blaze last Friday.
Joseph Sanford Jr., a 17-year veteran of the Inwood Fire Department, suffered cardiac arrest after officials believe the first floor of a house in Woodmere collapsed early last Friday morning, causing him to fall to the basement.
According to Detectives, personnel responded to a house fire that occurred in an empty residence located on Central Avenu
The fire required thirteen departments from Woodmere, Inwood, Lawrence- Cedarhurst, East Rockaway, Elmont, Hewlett, Lakeview, Lynbrook, Malverne, Meadowmere, Oceanside, Rockville Centre and Valley Stream with two hundred fire fighters and twenty pieces of apparatus to extinguish the fire.
