PHILADELPHIA — Springfield high school was evacuated Tuesday after a student’s E-cigarette exploded.

The fire department believes the battery from the device came in contact with change in the teenagers pocket.

From CBS Philly: Police were called to the scene because other students feared the explosion was a pipe bomb. But firefighters determined it was just an unfortunate accident.

The student suffered minor burns to his hip and hand.
