LA PAZ, Bolivia — At least five college students were killed in Bolivia on Tuesday when the railing on a fourth flour balcony gave way, sending students falling.
The tragedy occurred at the Public University of El Alto (UPEA), near La Paz.
“So far we have a report of five dead and three people in intensive care after what happened at the UPEA facilities,” Interior Minister Eduardo Del Castillo said.
Reuter’s reported that before the collapse, students were involved in a tense meeting at the school, which included some physical altercations.
