A woman had her entire hand hacked off by her violent husband who tracked her down despite her relocating to another city for work.
The unnamed 28-year-old victim had moved to east Chinas Shanghai to avoid her husband after he subject to repeated domestic violence.
However, the husband, in his 40s, tracked her down and attacked her with a clever, cutting off her hand and then chopping the fingers from her bloody, severed palm.
The husband was arrested, and the woman was taken to hospital for emergency treatment.
She said she thought the violence would end when she left her husband to work in Shanghai, and that even though he had been threatening her by text, she never expected the violence to escalate to such a level.
The victim described her husband as a person who appears kind but who in fact has an alternative "extreme personality" inside the showed itself when they were alone in private.
Reports said the woman remained surprisingly calm while being treated by doctors.
She said: "He also threatened to destroy my life, even if it means he has to go to jail. He told me nobody would ever want me, and after he gets out of jail, he wants to destroy me and then take care of me my entire life."
Reports did not say whether doctors would be able to reattach her hand and fingers.

She had reportedly moved from Sichuan province to Shanghai in an attempt to get away from her husband after he reportedly subjected her to repeated domestic violence.
The man was able to track her down down and then attacked her with a cleaver, he was then arrested and the woman was taken to hospital for emergency treatment.
It is understood doctors attempted to reattach her hand and fingers but were unsuccessful.
