2 Dead, 2 Injured In Shooting At Westfield Montgomery Mall In Bethesda; Shooter At Large

BETHESDA, Md. — At least three people were injured in a shooting at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda Friday morning.

Officials have confirmed they are actively investigating reports of as many as three victims injured outside in the parking lot.

They went on to confirm that the suspect is currently outstanding.

Emergency services arrived at the incident to transport and treat injured victims.

Two of the victims are male and one if female, police did not confirm their ages.

Schools in the surrounding area are currently sheltering in place while the suspect remains at large.

Police have now confirmed that the female victim has died from her injuries.

Local media is reporting that the gunmen is travelling in a  4 door Silver Sedan.

Montgomery County Police responded at approximately 11:30am.

Police are now investigating another shooting in the 13000 block of Connecticut Avenue, it is not known if it is related.

The mall opened in March 1968, with three anchor stores and 58 smaller shops.
