Investigators Arrest Suspect In Multiple Sex Assaults of Women He Met Online

CALIFORNIA — The Sacramento Police Department has arrested 33-year-old Jonathan Carroll for sexual assault.

In July 2013, the Sacramento Police Department received reports of alleged sexual assaults that occurred in the Sacramento region. During the course of the investigation, detectives discovered that Carroll met a number of young women, ages 17 to 19, using an online social networking forum.

To date Sacramento Police detectives have identified five victims who are believed to have been sexually assaulted by Carroll over a period of three years.

Sacramento Police detectives, in conjunction with the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office obtained a warrant for Carroll’s arrest. On December 23, 2015, police detectives arrested Carroll at a residence in the county of Sacramento without incident. Carroll was transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail where he was booked for rape and oral copulation.
