PERRY COUNTY, Tenn. — A 12-year-old boy was fatally shot by his teenage relative in Perry County, Tennessee Sunday–local Deputies are calling the shooting an accident
The scene is at Culps Bend Road in the White Oak Community, WSMV reported.
Officials say one of the boys took a handgun from an adult’s backpack in the home and the two were ‘playing with it’ in a bedroom.
At some point, the gun went off, striking the unidentified 12-year-old. He was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead.
It was unclear if any charges were pending. The Perry County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation.
