MUNCIE, Indiana — A teenage member of the Ball State Cardinals men’s basketball team was found dead in his off-campus apartment on Tuesday in what officials are calling a ‘tragedy.’

Zachary Hollywood, 19, graduated from Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School in Bradley, Illinois, where he was a two-time All Southwest Suburban Conference performer, RTV6 reported.

The university released a statement in an email:

‘On behalf of Ball State University, it is with profound sadness that we learned today of the passing of Zachary ‘Zach’ Hollywood, a student from Bradley, Illinois. Zach has been a part of our community for the past year. During his time on campus, he was a member of the men’s basketball team and made many positive impressions throughout campus. This is a tragedy. Our heartfelt condolences are with his family, friends and teammates.

For members of our Ball State family who need support during this difficult time, we encourage them to take advantage of the numerous resources available on- and off-campus.’

A cause of death was not immediately made public.

Hollywood’s final social media post on Twitter appears to be an eerie look into his fate on earth, writing: “Be careful what you say to everyone because you don’t know what kind of battles they are going through”

Earlier this year, Hollywood shared the emotional story of losing his mother to Ulcerative colitis in a video from Ball State Sports Link:
