Teen’s Body Found 2 Weeks After Sudden Disappearance

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Homicide detectives were able to confirm the identity of the body found in Woodlawn Park Friday as missing 16-year-old Jholie Moussa, during an autopsy at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The autopsy results are pending. Police believe this is an ‘isolated incident and are continuing to investigate every lead.’

Her family has been notified. Detectives are investigating this as a homicide.

The body was discovered by police officers who were at Woodlawn Park conducting a search for Moussa.

The park is in the 4800 block of Manor Drive in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County. The body was almost entirely covered by leaves and brush.

She was last seen in the 4200 block of Sonia Court on Friday, January 12, around 4:30 p.m. Moussa left home after exchanging mysterious text messages with someone, her twin sister told NBC Washington.
