Coast Guard Rescues 5 After Boat Capsizes Off Florida Coast

MIAMI — The Coast Guard rescued five boaters Sunday 3 miles east of Lake Worth Inlet.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Miami received a call from the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office at approximately 3 p.m. reporting a capsized 26-foot pleasure craft with five boaters in the water. The watchstanders directed the launch of Coast Guard Station Lake Worth Inlet 33-foot Special Purpose Craft—Law Enforcement crew to assist.

The rescue crew arrived on scene at 3:28 p.m. and recovered all five boaters from the water.

The station crew transferred the five boaters to Lake Park Marina where emergency medical services were waiting.
