Female Police Officer Viciously Attacked, Beaten In Virginia

HAMPTON, VA — The Hampton Police Division have arrested a 17-year-old Hampton male in connection with an assault on an officer.

On December 22, 2017, at 4:24 p.m., a Hampton Police officer on routine patrol in the area of Kecoughtan Road and Regent Street was investigating a possible vandalism to vehicle complaint.

Two involved individuals were pointed out to the officer by the complainant. The officer then attempted to speak with both subjects to further investigate the matter. While attempting to speak with the subjects the suspect charged and began physically assaulting the officer. The suspect punched the officer, took her to the ground, and began slamming her head against the concrete. The officer was able to gain control of the suspect as backup officers arrived on scene and assisted in taking the suspect into custody. The officer sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the incident. There were no other injuries reported as a result of this incident.

A 17-year-old Hampton male, has been arrested in connection with this incident. He is charged with one count of Felonious Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer.
