FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. — Police, along with the GBI, are investigating the shooting death of 27-year-old Gregory Smith outside of an Applebee’s restaurant.
Smith was found dead by his girlfriend early Sunday morning at the Applebee’s on Glynn Street.
Police said that she went to the restaurant to find him when he didn’t come home the night before.
Police confirmed that the man was shot and found the bullet entry-point in the driver’s side window and shell casings nearby.
“There are surveillance cameras from Applebee’s. We are looking at the tapes right now as we speak,” Lt. Whitlow said. “There are surveillance cameras on all of these surrounding businesses. The trick is to get the right camera at the right angle at the right time.”
Fayetteville Police announced Sunday afternoon that Applebee’s is offering a reward for information in the case. They did not release the amount of that reward.
Anyone with information in this case should call Detective Scott Gibson at (770) 719-4226.
