Christopher Goode Stabbed His Wife Ten Times In The Neck; She Miraculously Survived

BALTIMORE — Public Enemy # 1, Christopher Goode, was convicted of attempted murder in the second degree and openly wearing and carrying a dangerous weapon with the intent to injure. He is facing 33 years in prison. Assistant State’s Attorney Michelle Lambert prosecuted the case.

On September 12, 2013, Goode followed the mother of his child from the Westport Light Rail Station into the 2200 Block of Sydney Avenue. The two argued and Goode took her cell phone. She asked for the cellphone back, but he refused to return it and put the phone in his pants pocket. The woman tried to get the phone out of his pocket and Goode responded by throwing the cellphone into the street.

Goode then ran up to her and began cutting her repeatedly with a box cutter- eventually he slashed her throat. She ran towards a witness and yelled, “Help, he’s trying to kill me.” The woman then collapsed on the witness’ steps as she bled profusely from her neck. Goode was running behind the woman, but fled when he noticed there was a witness.

The witness rendered aid to the woman and observed stab wounds all over her neck area. As they waited for medics, the victim informed the witness that the man who attacked her was her child’s father, Christopher Goode.

The woman was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma. She sustained approximately 10 stab wounds to her neck and chest area. She received almost 100 stitches as a result of her injuries.

Goode was subsequently charged with attempted murder and several related offenses. He now faces a maximum sentence of 33 years.

“I’ll never understand how a person could seek to maim or kill the people in their lives they love the most. It is a miracle that this brave young woman survived this awful attack. I thank Michele for obtaining justice on this woman’s behalf.” State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby said.
