RHODE ISLAND — Police say a man killed his wife and his pet dog before fatally stabbing himself in Pawtucket Thursday.
Around 5 pm, Pawtucket Police responded to 192 Meadow St for a reported disturbance. Upon arrival officers found an unresponsive female who had been stabbed. Officers also found a barely conscious male who also had significant stab wounds, and a deceased canine that had been stabbed.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are investigating the incident and say it appears that the 52 year old male stabbed his 50 year old wife, his dog, and then himself.
Both people were transported by rescue to Memorial Hospital where they were pronounced deceased.
The investigation is ongoing.
