Gainesville, FL – The search for Hannah Brim may be over.

On Tuesday morning, the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team located human bones during a search operation. The remains are believed to be those of Hannah Brim, 23, who has been presumed dead after she disappeared January 19th of this year.

Following the Murder indictment of Nelson Armas, Brim’s ex-boyfriend, investigators gained additional information that identified new search areas where Brim’s remains may be located. Search teams composed of SWAT members from the Gainesville Police Department, Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation, Medical Examiner and the University of Florida C.A. Pound Human Identification Laboratory have been searching different areas near
Orange Heights based on the information learned in the investigation.

During the search, ACSO Dive Team members located multiple human bones in a swampy area near railroad tracks. The location is approximately 2.5 miles northwest of Orange Heights.

The site is currently being processed by members of the Gainesville Police Department’s Forensic Crime Unit, the Office of the Medical Examiner and experts from the C.A. Pound Human Identification Laboratory.

Investigators do have reason to believe that the bones are those of Hannah Brim, but will be confirmed via further analysis.

Once word reached the command post that Brim had been located, the officers and searchers took time to offer prayer and thanks for the discovery.
