NASHVILLE, TENN — Sex Crimes detectives are pursuing leads as they work to identify the man responsible for the midday rape of an 18-year-old woman at Hamilton Creek Recreation Center off Bell Road.

The victim is a nanny for 3-year-old twins. She was with them near the swing set when she saw a suspicious man in a black car nearby, causing them to leave the swings and head toward the BMX bike track. The man followed and attacked the teen. She fought him, losing a tooth in the process, and told the children to run. The man raped her and then fled. She caught up with the children and drove them home from where she called police.

The rapist is described as being of Hispanic descent, 5’6” to 5’8” tall, who wore khaki pants, a black shirt with possible black stripes, and sunglasses. He fled in a black four-door sedan, perhaps an early 2000s model, with tinted windows and a spoiler on the back. It had factory wheels.

Detectives have noted that the rapist in this case has the same general description of a man who sexually assaulted a 29-year-old woman in the Hickory Trace apartment complex on Hickory Hollow Place on the night of July 20th.  The victim in that case accidentally left her keys in the front door.  An assailant entered, woke the victim, choked and raped her before fleeing.  He was described as being of Hispanic descent, 5’5” to 5’7” tall, who wore a black shirt and red shorts.  The victim in this case worked with a TBI sketch artist this week to produce a drawing of her assailant, which is also attached.
