Man Charged with Killing Son Now Charged with Wife’s Capital Murder

CALIFORNIA — A 69-year-old man was charged today with fatally stabbing his wife at their North Hills home, before shooting his son to death outside of the house.

Deputy District Attorney Emily Cole said Shehada Khalil Issa faces two counts of willful, deliberate and premeditated murder with a special circumstance allegation of multiple murders.

Arraignment is scheduled at 8:30 a.m. on May 17 in Department S of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, San Fernando Branch.

The defendant is accused of killing his wife, Rabihah Shibi Issa, 68, with a knife on or between March 27 and 29, according to the charging document.

The felony complaint also includes a special allegation that the defendant personally and intentionally discharged a shotgun, which caused great bodily injury and death to his son, Amir Issa, 38, and a hate crime allegation.

On March 29, police responding to the family’s home allegedly discovered the body of Amir Issa outside of the house and Rabihah Issa’s body was found inside a bathroom, the prosecutor said.

The defendant is being held without bail.
