NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Domestic Violence and East Precinct detectives are investigating Friday night’s shooting that critically injured George Baker Jr., 62, inside a residence he shared with the suspect, his half-brother John Ross, at 1615 Cahal Avenue.
Ross, 54, called police at 8 p.m. to report that he had shot Baker. A witness told investigators that the two men were arguing when Ross pulled out a handgun and pointed it at Baker.
The two continued to argue and the gun fired. Baker was struck in the head.
He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he is in extremely critical condition.

Ross, who appeared to be intoxicated at the time of the shooting, is charged with attempted criminal homicide. He is being held in lieu of $150,000 bond.
