Man Calls 911 After Wife Fatally Shot, Says It Was Accident

WASHINGTON — Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Detectives are investigating a reported shooting at a residence located in the 14100 block of East Sinto Avenue in Spokane Valley.

On January 18th, 2016 at approximately 9:45 a.m., a male called 911 and reported his wife had been shot. The female was transported to a local hospital for treatment prior to the arrival of Spokane Valley Sheriff’s Deputies.

The scene was secured and Major Crimes Detectives and members of the Forensic Unit were called to the location.

Initial information from the husband, who is cooperating with investigators, is the shooting was accidental, but this has not been confirmed yet by investigators.

At the hospital, the female succumbed to her injury and was pronounced deceased.

The investigation is ongoing. No further details were available.
