LOS ANGELES — A man pleaded no contest today for vandalizing vehicles, one of them with a child inside, in Beverly Hills.

Paul Francis Floyd, 48, entered his plea to one felony count of vandalism and one misdemeanor count each of cruelty to child by endangering health and battery.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Yvette Verastegui immediately sentenced him to three years of formal probation and 189 days in jail for time served. The judge also ordered Floyd to attend at least one year in a residential mental illness and drug rehabilitation program for veterans and to pay restitution to all victims.

On April 4, Floyd jumped on top of the hood of a parked car owned by actress Jaime King while her 4-year-old son and a woman caring for the boy were inside in the 400 block of North Bedford Drive in Beverly Hills. Floyd broke the front and rear windows of the vehicle and then threw a bottle at the woman caring for the child, injuring her arm.

The defendant also was accused of vandalizing another car that same day and a motorcycle two months earlier in West Hollywood.
