A Maryland Transportation Authority Police Officer has been arrested and charged with theft.
Corporal Shane Schapiro (36) has been charged with Theft from $10,000 to under $100,000. He turned himself in yesterday afternoon at the Towson Precinct and was released on $10,000 bail.
The charges stem from an investigation into missing and misappropriated funds from FOP Lodge 34 where Shapiro is a former President. FOP Lodge 34 represents Maryland Transportation Authority Police Officers and is located in Middle River.
The investigation is being conducted by the Baltimore County Police Financial and Cyber Crimes Unit.
