Metro Nashville Police Arrest One of Their Own

NASHVILLE, TENN. – Domestic Violence Division detectives late Tuesday night arrested Hermitage Precinct School Resource Officer Julian Pirtle on a charge of aggravated domestic assault for allegedly choking a woman with whom he was involved in a romantic relationship.

The victim came to the police department’s Domestic Violence Division offices Tuesday and reported that she had been choked by Pirtle at her residence on the morning of May 2nd. ‘

Pirtle showed up unexpectedly at her workplace Tuesday where she confronted him about the events of last week and recorded the conversation.

Statements heard on the recording are deemed to corroborate the victim’s allegations, police said.

Pirtle, 35, is a 10-year police department veteran.

He has been decommissioned and is also the subject of an administrative investigation by the Office of Professional Accountability.
