OKLAHOMA — The body of Claremore Fire Chief Sean Douglas was found inside a storm drain around 1 a.m. Sunday, Fox23 reports.

Douglas went missing Saturday night at Archer Dr. and Archer Ct. around 10:30 p.m. as he and other firefighters were assisting flooding victims.

Officials say Douglas went missing after walking through the rushing waters. About two hours after the victim went missing, fellow firefighters found his body in a storm drain.

Officials suspect Douglas drowned, but a medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

A second firefighter, Zane James, attempted to save the Chief Douglas, but reports say he was also knocked down by the rushing water and had to be rescued, KFOR reported.

He suffered minor injuries.
