ELLISVILLE, MS. — On February 20, 2018, Jones County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Oak Bowery Road in Ellisville for “shots fired” complaint. While enroute deputies were advised the suspect, Whitney G. Kitchens, 42 of Ellisville, had shot his wife multiple times.
When authorities arrived, Kitchens was taken into custody. He stated he and his wife had been arguing when the situation escalated.
The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
Kitchens is charged with Second Degree Murder. His initial appearance is scheduled for February 21, 2018 at Jones County Justice Court.
