WATCH: (Scroll Down For Video) A father-of-three has now been charged with attempted murder after he ran over a gun-wielding thug who stole a pair of sneakers, which resulted in ripping the teenagers arm off.
Phillip Pierre, aged 39, arranged to meet Zachary Sam, aged 17, in Brooklyn on Friday in order to buy a pair of $190 Air Jordan sneakers.
Police say Sam climbed into Pierre’s Honda Pilot, pulled out a revolver and and took the sneakers.
CCTV footage of the incident shows Pierre making a U-turn and driving at Sam as he was walking on the sidewalk.
ABC reports that Sam left his hand at the scene, along with the gun, footage also shows his sleeve flapping as he runs.
The teenager them manages to climb on to a bus further down the street.
The driver stopped the bus, allowing Pierre to catch up who held Sam until the police arrived.
The NYPD have confirmed that when he has recovered he will be charged over the armed theft.
Pierre has also been arrested and charged with attempted murder.
