HOUSTON, Texas — A man named Walter Rubio was riding a bicycle when he made the discovery on Honeywell road, a dead end.

“I was on my bike and when I came, I seen the casket and I got a little scared so I had to go to the main street and get the cops,” Rubio told ABC13.

Responding Officers opened the casket, finding the body of a woman they believe died in 2007.

Investigators believe the casket was unearthed from the Riceville Cemetery during storms. Parts of Texas have been suffering from a massive flood.

Houston police are still trying to positively identify the body inside the casket. A woman at the scene says the casket may belong to her friend. She tells Eyewitness News that seeing the body is something that she’ll not soon forget.

At least eight people have died in Oklahoma and Texas over the past three days. On Monday, tornadoes are suspected of killing one person each in Oklahoma and Texas.

From Weather.com: Widespread flooding continues in the Houston metro area, with stretches of major freeways still flooded, vehicles both submerged and stuck in gridlocked traffic and hundreds of homes flooded thanks to slow-moving torrential downpours Monday night into early Tuesday morning.

An areal flood warning continues Tuesday morning for parts of Harris and Fort Bend counties in the Houston metropolitan area, including much of the city of Houston. This is an extremely dangerous and potentially life-threatening flood situation.
