In wake of Britain voting to leave the European Union yesterday, over one million people with a supposed lack of respect for democracy have signed a petition for a second referendum.
Over 1.5million people with no apparent understanding of democracy, have signed a petition calling on the government to hold a second referendum.
Young voters took to social media to voice their outrage that ‘old people had ruined their future.’
To back their frivolous claim up, they used data that 60% of 65 year old’s and older had voted to leave, which is indeed a fact.
However, what they failed to mention is that only 36% of 18-24 year old’s voted in the referendum, compared with 83% of 65+ year old’s.
Unfortunately for them, it appears our former EU counterparts do not want us to delay the process of leaving the European Union.
Jean-Claude Juncker says he wants to begin negotiating the UK’s departure from the EU immediately and there is no need to wait until October.
Maybe if you wanted us to stay in the European Union so much, you should of actually voted.
By Saturday morning over one million people had signed the meaningless petition.
17,410,742 people voted to leave the European Union and people need to respect that.
