SEATTLE — A Burlington Northern Santa Fe train employee called 911 at 5:40 a.m. Tuesday to report a man had just been struck by a train.

Officers entered a train tunnel and located the crash scene between Jackson Street and Pine Street. Traffic Collision investigators are now interviewing the freight train engineer and gathering additional evidence while trying to determine exactly what occurred.

The King County Medical Examiner will work to identify the adult male who was recovered from the scene.
